I am Gideon, a philosopher, life tutor and Reiki master for the past 20 years.

My focus is on spirituality, meditation and a healthy lifestyle. I do counselling and chanelling, write spiritual articles and do research on quantum fields and it's relationship with the human body, mind and soul.

For the past 40 years I have studied various spiritual trends and healing modalities but Reiki was my choice because it is one of the few techniques where you as the therapist are only an instrument.

This means that I do not make diagnosis of physical conditions or claim that I heal any physical problems. I merely act as an instrument in the hands of your higher Self that works through me. That is my intention, my trust and my belief.

When you reach 60, you look back on your life and try to find the common denominators in the things that happened to you, where you have been, and what you have become. When you follow the line—as the crow flies—over all the mountains and valleys, you see a path that you may understand as your purpose and life’s task.

I look at my life and see, in the hourglass, the freely flowing sand of love in my search for meaning.

Love for people, individuals, animals, and everything that excites my heart has been the driving force throughout my life.

As I went through the school of life, this driving force led me to explore the essence of love: how it manifests and how it can be lived fully.

When I was 20 years old, I wrote a definition of love that remains true for me to this day:

“Love is the thing that keeps two people together when nothing else can keep them together.”

I began to look at the things that keep people apart and found the elephant in the room: the artificial story of the “self” and its projections onto other people. This story leads us to try to transform others so that they fit our expectations. Yet this story, or process, is often called “love.” That realisation forced me to look more deeply in order to find a more authentic definition of love.

In 2014, I was introduced to healing plants. In my first five journeys with ayahuasca I broke through the ceiling of my own consciousness, and it became easier to move beyond who I thought I was and into the experience of being, moment by moment.

I learned to be in a state of being in which thoughts are no longer possible because you move into a place beyond time and space, whilst remaining conscious and able to remember many of your insights. In 2017, I used iboga, an “ego-disintegrating” plant that took me into an experience of my life like a movie. I saw things that I had experienced but could not remember ever doing. (Did I live another life simultaneously, without being conscious of it?)

For two weeks afterwards, I had no idea who I was and no control over what came out of my mouth. I locked myself away and spent most of that time meditating.

After two weeks, I started to feel like myself again, but I knew something important had changed: the separation was gone. I could feel people as they were, without projecting my expectations, judgments, or requirements onto them. Today, I look back and realise how important this experience was in teaching me to hear the voice of other people’s Higher Selves.

Since then, I have used PE mushrooms—among the strongest psychedelic mushrooms—once or twice a year. Each journey has offered further training in something my conscious mind does not fully understand.

This has helped me tremendously in meditation because I have learned how to enter that state of being very easily. It is also an essential part of my Reiki practice: I enter a deep meditative state and allow your Higher Self to use my voice, body, and hands to do what needs to be done.

I experience this as a deep love that goes beyond appearance, age, personality, and even who you think you are.

So, what is my new definition of love?

Love is the process through which you integrate the Higher Self of another being and allow it to unite with your own Higher Self, without judgment, requirements, or expectations. If this creates a natural flow of energy—a dance that brings happiness and a sense of groundedness—it can become a process of mutual transformation. If not, then a separation may be inevitable, and that too can be healing for both people.
